WHY CAN'T WE JUST HAVE IT ALL IN OUR TASK MANAGEMENT APPS?

Problem

As a designer, I’ve encountered specific challenges when working on a project.

Personally, I’ve found that during the ideation phase, having someone to “ping-pong” ideas with can be incredibly helpful.

Additionally, managing the inspirational materials collected on several apps can be quite frustrating.

Market Research

In addition to my personal experience with task management apps, which I rely on both professionally and personally, I sought a broader perspective on the market.

This led me to explore other prominent project management apps such as Monday, Notion, Wrike, and more. Furthermore, I conducted interviews with friends who have utilized these apps and thoroughly reviewed customer feedback to gain deeper insights.

None of the project management apps offer an AI-generated brainstorming feature.

None of the apps provide a straightforward solution for collecting materials from various sources. Users may need to download the materials in image format before uploading them to the app, which can be an exhausting process.

I've noticed many users expressing discontent about the complex and overloaded interfaces of the apps, which can make them feel overwhelmed while using them.

Design Process

I aimed for Scribble to have a clean and functional design, ensuring that users can easily locate everything they need. My inspiration for the design came from the Japanese art of food arrangement, Moritsuke.

This art form emphasizes space, possibility, intrigue, and calmness, focusing on empty spaces and meticulous arrangement.

Wireframes

I had numerous sketches for both the visual boards screen and the ideation screen until I identified the clearest ones that would make users feel navigation is easy. When presenting the two final sketches, the debate revolved around whether to incorporate the workspace menu into these screens, creating the impression that each brainstorm or visual boards screen is nested within it, or to keep them independent (while still offering the option to assign each to a project/workspace).
